It provides guidance on weld rod techniques for tamper-resistant seams and integral cove base detailing to support compliance, durability and long-term performance.
While weld rods are not formally classified as tamper-resistant, our team evaluated their performance using methods similar to security sealant testing. When properly heat-welded, weld rods create smooth, durable seams that help deter tampering and support safe behavioral health environments.
In behavioral health environments, separate wall base can increase safety and maintenance risks. Integral cove base creates a smooth, continuous transition that improves durability, cleanliness and safety while helping end users reduce risk and support healing spaces.

Lighter-colored hospital OR flooring is recommended to improve visibility, support efficiency and reinforce evidence-based healthcare design.
